Today, ascendant surf-rock outfit The Terrys share their second release of 2022, ‘Waiting For You’. LISTEN HERE.

Full of the charisma and allure that fans have come to embrace The Terrys for, ‘Waiting For You’ sees the group take the warm melodies that have coined them the next-gen of their contemporaries, Ocean AlleySkegss and Hockey Dad, to new emotive heights. Ruminating on a rousing riff, here the band speak to recent memories of love lost, and found again through their bond, restrengthened on their recent debut tour.

Speaking to the release the band share, “Waiting For You is one of our favourite tracks to date – it’s an emotional journey that really punches through towards the end. The song is a reflection of feelings and times we went through together as a band over our last tour and we’re really proud of it.”

Waiting For You’ follows a breakout year for the Wodi Wodi / Gerringong based outfit, whose Australiana sound has taken them to sign to Violent Soho’s James Tidswell’s label Domestic La La (Teenage JoansDear SeattleWest Thebarton).

Releases ‘Our Paradise’ and ‘Cost The Peace’ cut through triple j and beyond and saw the band sell out their debut headline tour across the east coast, drop their debut project premiere body of work in The TerrySonic Mixtape, score triple j Unearthed’s #1 Most Played Artist and make their Hottest 100 debut at #76 respectively.

More recently, the booming ‘IDK’ was embraced via playlisting across triple jSpotify’s New Music Friday, the cover of Local NoiseAll New RockThe Rock and Apple Music’s New Music Daily, alongside support from NMEHysteriaRAGE and more – plus performances alongside Dune RatsSkegssRuby Field. Today The Terrys announce a fresh set of east coast dates, see all tour routing details BELOW.

Waiting For You’ is out now via Domestic La La, buy/stream it here.

ABOUT THE TERRYS
Gerringong locals Jacob Finch (vocals), Lukas Anderson (lead guitar) and Ben Salvo (rhythm guitar) began teaching each other to jam in their shared trailer house, owned by landlord and legend, Terry. Many noise complaints and two additional members later, Cameron Cooper (drums) and Trent Cooper (bass), Terry agreed to lend the fully formed band his name, and it was there, The Terrys took shape. From humble beginnings their debut single ‘Video Games’ back in June 2020, quickly saw The Terrys cultivate a dedicated following of Terrydactyls – fiends for their hooky guitars, fast and furious drums and charismatic vocals.
