Watch the Taiwan Beats 2021SXSW Showcase on Thursday,March 18th, 2021 starting at  6PM(CDT) via SXSW Online (Channel 2) and at iconic Austin venue, The Mohawk, via SXSW Online XR.

SXSW would have been an amazing opportunity for all four of these acts to expand their audience internationally and to explore new industry connections in person. When the conference moved to a virtual setting due to the pandemic, the Taiwan Beats 2021SXSW showcase team (sponsored by The Ministry of Culture in Taiwan) chose to partner with Young Team Productions and FIRE ON MUSIC (the biggest punk label in Taiwan) to create special performances spotlighting each artist’s personality and allowing fans to get more familiar with Taiwanese culture. Young Team is a beloved local promoter in Taiwan behind setting up international shows for Yo La Tengo, Rhye, Ride, Jose Gonzalez, Japanese Breakfast, among others.

Previous Taiwan Beats SXSW showcases have been a hit, garnering praise from the likes of the Austin Chronicle, KUTX, Alt Citizen, NPR Music, hello asia! among others, and featuring a range of genres including minimal, experimental artists to electronic, rock, indie dream pop and more.
