Polish Club release debut self-titled EP out today

October 23 2015

Sydney-rock duo Polish Club are excited to announce the independent release of their debut self-titled EP out today via MGM Distribution.

Spotify Apple Music / iTunes

The six-track EP features their smashing debut single ‘Able’, radio-favourite ‘Did Somebody Tell Me’ and their latest effort ‘Beeping’; three short and fast introductions to their brash take on punk-inspired soul and blues. The remaining tracks continue to showcase the pair’s full-bodied sound created with nothing but the sounds of John-Henry’s crashing drums and Novak’s piercing vocals and guitar. Aptly put by The Music, “It’s brash, loud, messy…but full of so much heart.

Of the release, Novak notes, “The songs are pretty damned simple. They’re all two-and-a half minutes max, and they’re all about girls and dancing. We’re not reinventing the wheel, we’re just doing what comes naturally.

Stepping out as one of the strongest acts on the BIGSOUND line-up and finishing up a busy few months of live shows supporting the likes Courtney Barnett, Regurgitator and Gang of Youths, Polish Club return to the road to play with Loon Lake on their Final Wave National Tour at the end of the month. LOVE FOR POLISH CLUB

“What a smile this teasing EP brings to one’s face. Sydney duo Polish Club come out all guns blazing on their debut EP with an intensely likeable fusion of gritty rock and Motown skuzz, and pump out an American swagger that is instantly ear-catching…t’s brash, loud, messy…but full of so much heart.
4/5, The Music

“Now there’s a voice”
Richard Kingsmill, triple j

“So much soul, grit and burning heart on this. And smash. This song SMASHES.”
Zan Rowe, triple j

While you might think their instrumentation would be uncomfortably sparse, lead singer Novak’s ferociously bluesy vocals and the powerful drumming of John-Henry fill out your headphones with an astounding sound…they carry an air of youthful exuberance and originality that tugs at your inner rebel.
