James Vickery and SG Lewis Share “Pressure”

October 16 2019

Introducing James Vickery, a distinct and powerful new voice in R&B. Uncomplicated, raw, passionate, soulful. Today he shares a new track with SG Lewis off a forthcoming project out via TH3RDBRAIN next year. A perfect pairing of James’ lush voice and SG Lewis’s smokey, dance production, listen to “Pressure” HERE.

James Vickery also today announces his debut US performances in LA + NYC this December, find all dates below.

Vickery’s impeccable falsetto and stirring live performances have already garnered praise from FaderComplex, ClashFlaunt, among others; sold out shows at London’s prestigious Jazz Cafe & ‘BBC Introducing Live’; and even earned him a set at Glastonbury. After his stunning COLORS session went viral last year (+15million views and counting), he  signed a record deal with TH3RDBRAIN (behind Zhu, Gallant, NoMBe, among others) and publishing with Roc Nation.

What makes his story even more incredible: Vickery was born deaf in his left ear and only learned he had a singing voice after completing vocal exercises in speech therapy.

Says James Vickey of the new track out today with SG Lewis“R&B is such a broad genre and with this next project I’m trying to cover as much of it as possible to show my versatility in that space. Listening through all of my new music made me realize I didn’t have anything that had a more electronic influence. For me, Sam is the king of that world right now, so “Pressure” definitely felt like the missing piece that ties the whole project together.”

Stay tuned for more James Vickery music and news coming soon.
