Introducing Felix Lush who today shares the A/B Side release ‘Hits The Floor / Something Unique‘. Listen + watch HERE.

An active member of alt-electronic trio GAUCI, Lush has cut his teeth in the Eora/Sydney underground for the last decade through an array of musical outfits and genres. Today he presents an extension of the GAUCI world as a multi-faceted producer with the double release of ‘Hits The Floor / Something Unique‘. Inspired by AG Cook, Bladee and Drain Gang, Lush distills these influences into their most potent electronic form – what he dubs ‘fun bratty pop’: corrosive beats and distorted 808s combined with metallic, 3D percussion reminiscent of his contemporaries, Peach PRC, Kim Dracula and daine.

Of the release Felix says “So excited to finally be releasing this music been a long time coming and finally feel like I’m putting out something that represents all aspects of my personality properly. Literally worked with the DREAM team on this video and am so excited for the world to see it!” Written during the lockdown period, Lush found himself increasingly drawn to the work of pop stars Charli XCX, SOPHIE, 100 gecs and more. Enamoured by their hyper stylised visuals, hopeless romance and character play, Lush embarked on a new era. Setting this tone is ‘Hits The Floor‘, a tale of flourishing love and those moments where “your heart straight up feels like it’s falling out of your chest” he shares.

Complete with visuals by Joshua Hourigan (Vivienne Westwood, OFF-WHITE, Lanvin), creative directed by Kurt Johnson (Tkay Maidza, Cub Sport, Charli XCX), Lush is transposed within a cacophony of TikTok style transitions, latex, armour and digital butterflies. The B Side ‘Something Unique‘ serves as a reminder to make time for the people and things that you love most. Throughout his time as a musician, Felix has performed alongside Toro y Moi, Methyl Ethyl to name a few, drawing praise from i-D, Noisey, triple j Unearthed, and FBi Radio amongst others. Now, stay tuned for more from the blossoming popstar Felix Lush.
