Sydney four piece Body Type are pleased to share the video for their debut single, ‘Ludlow’, premiering today via i-D Magazine. WATCH ‘LUDLOW’ NOW

Body Type are Sophie, Annabel, Cecil and Georgia – four girls from Sydney (via Perth and Kiama) who started playing music together a little over six months ago. Writing songs that range thematically from navigating painful heartbreak to the banality of life in a mouldy Redfern terrace, the foursome are brand new to the music game – they performed live for the very first time supporting Gabriella Cohen last month, and have since been invited to play with international acts Cate Le Bon and The Coathangers.

First single ‘Ludlow’, recorded in an attic in Camperdown, is getting airplay on triple j and community radio stations including FBi, 2SER, RRR, RTRFM and 4ZZZ. The video was shot and directed by Tim Barretto and Oliver Hay of Hope St Productions.

From the band: “We live by a very literal D.I.Y ethos, except the ‘Y’ stands for ‘yourself + all of your sweet talented creative pals’. We recorded our very first single ‘Ludlow’ in an attic with our friend Nathalie on mainly borrowed gear, and our friends Tim and Oliver from Hope St Productions spun together this accompanying video for us over the course of about 24 hours. We set up a green screen, donned some wigs, applied some rainbow filters, assumed some alter-egos and journeyed around Sydney in another friend’s 1975 Corolla, wishfully thinking that a plotline might reveal itself somewhere along the way. We hope it spawns as many unanswerable questions about life, love and peroxide in you, dear viewer, as it did in us.”
