NYC-based rapper CLIP today follows up 2021’s “Calvin K” with another unapologetic single, “FALL BACK”, via In Real Life (Liv.e, Meth Math, Luna Li). The single also serves to announce her debut  PERCEPTION EP coming out September 8th, 2022.  Listen to “FALL BACK” HERE + watch the otherworldly video HERE.

The video was directed by Moshpxt who has become known for tapping talent early and worked with the likes of YEAT, Eartheater, Matt Ox, and more. Taking cues from the worlds of anime, a passion that CLIP has always found comfort in, the video is a blistering, glowing moonscape starring CLIP and her unbridled confidence.

Speaking on the new track, CLIP shares, “The energy for ‘FALL BACK’ came naturally. The beat is so beautiful and brought to mind iconic women rappers of the 90s and 2000s — I wanted to channel pretty girl music while still talking my shit.” Of the video, she continues, “Moshpxt’s video brings ‘FALL BACK’ to life because it’s as if he created my own dream land, and that’s where my mind is most of the time. The visuals ultimately complement how euphoric and yet energetic the beat is.”

Before going independently viral in 2020 (“Sad Bitch’”currently sitting at +3Mill streams and counting) and quickly becoming a rising NYC ‘IT’ girl, CLIP was a 4.2 GPA student whose future seemed set on an Ivy League path. Her life took a turn when she ran away from home in her late teens to escape her toxic living situation and cultivated a core group of friends and artists in NYC. Her newfound community of collaborators and sense of inspiration ultimately led to the creation of CLIP.

CLIP dropped “Calvin K” late 2021, garnering praise from Pitchfork, PAPER, NYLON, Office, Fader, along with being photographed for a spread in Interview Magazine. Since then she’s been tapped for an  upcoming  ‘Heaven’ by Marc Jacobs ad, co-headlined the Boiler Room Festival NYC last year and performed alongside Hook, Father, 645AR, David Shawty, and more. She will make her major music festival debut at Rolling Loud New York 2022 this fall.
