Melbourne-based producer and multi-instrumentalist Christopher Port today shares the release of a brand new song ‘My Love’ and accompanying track ‘Sum 1′ (‘His Eye Is On The Sparrow’ Edit). Both tracks see Port working more closely with vocal lines whilst continuing to feature his distinctive off-centered shuffling beats, to deliver a unique local take on UK garage and two-step. Listen to them below:

Of the track, Port says, “Early 90’s rave music was a huge influence for this track. I love the ecstatic, feverish quality that all that music has. I’ve been listening to early rave stuff for years but have never felt like I could access all those emotions until now. I hope people can listen to this track as the sun goes down at an outdoor rave this summer.”

He continues, “For the Whitney edit, I made a beat and a few chords one day, dragged this acapella into the track and pressed play expecting for it to sound weird but I liked it and decided to leave it there. I thought adding anything else to the track would get in the way of the beautiful vocals, so I left it as it was. It felt like something that was meant to be, so what you hear is how the track was the day I made it.”

‘My love’ and ‘Sum 1‘ round out a breakthrough year for Port who released his debut VETEMENT EP earlier in July, featuring radio favourites ‘Heavens’ and ‘Bump’, amidst a busy touring schedule with label mates Big Scary and Airling as well as rising Australian acts Jack Grace and Ngaiire.

Fans of Christopher Port can catch him at his remaining live dates for 2016 at Paradise Music Festival and Melbourne Music Week this November, before seeing him live in support of London trio Haelos alongside Buoy and Yeo in 2017.
