Body Type share new single ‘264’; sign with Our Gold Friend; announce limited edition 7″

November 8, 2016

Sydney-band Body Type today share their new single ‘264‘ and news of their signing to the young, Melbourne-based label, Our Golden Friend (FERLA Jade Imagine, POPPONGENE). In celebration, the track will be available as a limited edition 7″ vinyl, also featuring their debut single ‘Ludlow‘. Listen to ‘264‘ below:

Body Type is Sophie, Annabel, Cecil and Georgia – four girls from Sydney (via Perth and Kiama) who started playing music together a little over six months ago. Writing songs that range thematically from navigating painful heartbreak to the banality of life in a mouldy Redfern terrace, the foursome are brand new to the music game. They performed live for the very first time supporting Gabriella Cohen in September 2016, and have since been invited to play with international acts Cate Le Bon and The Coathangers.

Fans of the band can also catch them supporting Tiny Little Houses, Hair Dye, Koi Child and Frankie Cosmos at the dates below and stay tuned for a very special Melbourne 7″ launch show in the coming weeks.

Body Type’s debut 7″ Ludlow / 264 is available now for pre-order via bandcamp. Grab it here.

LOVE FOR BODY TYPE

It’s like mid-2000s indie filtered through a pedal that King Gizzard and The Lizard Wizard would use and it bloody works.”

“‘Ludlow’ is a wide-eyed pop dream dragged through the scattered mess of twenty-something sharehouse reality, with a free-flowing format reminisce of Cayetana, the new Sydney-via-Kiama-via-Perth quartet spar reflective remorse against the sing-a-longs of fleeting jubilation.”
Rolling Stone

Dreamy guitar and vocals blending beautifully. I think I have a crush. Keep ’em coming.”
