Sydney band Body Type today share their new song and accompanying video for ‘Palms’ which premiered via The Fader overnight. A song of chance, luck and fate, the track toes the line between unadulterated dream pop and rumbling, raw garage instrumentation to give us another taste of the band’s distinctive take on Australian lo-fi garage music. Watch HERE.

Lead vocalist Sophie McComish shares, “Palms comes from observing moments of concatenation, when everything in your life lines up in a way that feels like the universe is trying to tell you something. Ultimately though, regardless of whether you are in control of your own fate or if Lady Destiny might have something to do with it doesn’t really matter, the world still turns.”

Of the video, Body Type bassist Georgia Wilkinson-Derums adds, “The BT brigade went off road for our latest shoot. Thanks to Jack Wotton and crew who conceptualised a freaky, cheeky dreamscape for our latest singe, ‘Palms’. We followed a trail to a location unknown and what happened next is all a dream.”

Alongside the release of ‘Palms’ (produced by Konstantin Kersting at Airlock Studios in Brisbane),comes the news of the band’s forthcoming debut self-titled EP featuring previously released singles ‘Silver’ and ‘Arrow‘, as well as a new studio recording of ‘Ludlow’ (the band’s first ever release – check out the original), out October 19 on Inertia Music/Partisan Records. Pre-order it here.

Hear the release early when the band jumps on the road to support Unknown Mortal Orchestra and Rolling Blackouts Coastal Fever this September and October.
